Welcome

This is like a shop window on the "Colouring in Kingsmead" project.

Welcome!

We are Carly Bond and Chris Lawrence, and we work with the Forever Young over 50's activity groups. Apart from our regular Monday afternoons at the Wally Foster Community Centre, we have been busy with residents planting and remaking gardens on Kingsmead. Here are some photos of what has been achieved so far....

In March 2010 we took over a part of the Hackney Marsh Adventure Playground and began to errect planters - scavenging wood and making plots for growing veg.

We built new furniture and restored a bench which had been neglected

In between we went on trips - to look at our back yard - the 2012 Olympic Park !

And we even lived up to our name "Forever Young" and went down to the Childhood Museum at Bethnal Green!

We got inspiration for what projects we might do next - a visit to Kew Gardens in August

In September we did some replanting of window boxes at the Wally Foster Community Centre.

In November we planted over 1000 daffodills in front of Ashmead House (Homerton Road)
